As noted by the city administration, during the night from December 20 to 21, utility workers removed 2,357 trucks' worth of snow, totaling around 30,000 cubic meters. On the morning of December 21, over 2,600 road workers and more than 1,500 units of special equipment were mobilized for snow removal in the city. Since the beginning of the winter season, more than 1.2 million cubic meters of snow have been removed from the city, with 99,829 trips made to snow disposal sites.
According to regulations, priority is given to clearing areas with the highest traffic intensity to avoid congestion on the roads. Next, areas with medium traffic loads are addressed—squares, train station territories, sidewalks, access routes to social facilities, and other key zones.
Particular attention is given to central streets, public transport routes, stops, and sidewalks. The capital has modern snow disposal sites equipped with a system for reading the license plates of dump trucks, surveillance cameras, and lighting.
Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution on the roads, adhere to safety rules, and, if possible, refrain from long-distance trips during the storm warning conditions.
In case of an emergency, it is recommended to call the number “112.”
