According to Alnazarova, ambulance staff work daily under challenging conditions, saving lives. The Minister emphasized that this case will not go unnoticed. She also extended her support to the family of the injured paramedic Anel Baymurzina and wished the young woman a swift recovery.
It is worth noting that the young emergency service employee ended up in the hospital with multiple injuries after the attack.
Official information indicates that from 2019 to 2023, Kazakhstan recorded 158 cases of assaults on medical workers. In 2022 alone, there were 46 such incidents reported, while 80 were documented in 2023, and there are already nine cases known for 2024.
Alnazarova pointed out that the agency, with the support of lawmakers, proposed introducing criminal liability for violence against medical workers committed during the performance of their professional duties.
The Health Minister added that such crimes should be punished severely, including imprisonment, and society must actively condemn such behavior.
