In Kazakhstan, a record amount of water has been collected in the republic's reservoirs in 2024.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the total water volume has exceeded 75 billion cubic meters, of which 12 billion m³ was floodwater.

Notably, there has been a significant increase in water inflow to Lake Balkhash, which has received 15.4 billion cubic meters of water since the beginning of the year, 4 billion more than the same period last year. Of this volume, 3.3 billion m³ came during the spring flood.

Since the start of the year, 17 billion m³ of water has been directed to the Caspian Sea.

The Kapchagai Reservoir in the Almaty region has reached full capacity for the first time in 10 years, receiving over 18 billion cubic meters of water.

This data indicates favorable water resources this year, which is crucial for ensuring irrigation and water supply in Kazakhstan.
