Lawmakers opposed filling in the lake.

– This issue is not new to us; the development of the riparian zone leads to a reduction in the catchment area and increases the risk of flooding in residential areas. Residents and other homeowners whose properties are located upstream are concerned about the filling in of this water body, as it serves as a natural reservoir for meltwater. Citizens have reached out to us for assistance. Furthermore, ponds and wetlands in the river's coastal zone are crucial for maintaining the hydrobalance. We must preserve natural water bodies, – emphasized A. Abenova.

In turn, Maksat Aysautov also expressed outrage over the filling of the lake, noting that a parliamentary request will be submitted in his name.

– What is happening here contradicts the directives of the Head of State regarding environmental preservation and the prevention of flooding risks in settlements. This is all illegal. There used to be such a beautiful lake, and look at what this corner of nature has become. Everyone must respect the law, whether they are an oligarch or an ordinary person; the authorized bodies, through their inaction, are creating social tension, – the deputy emphasized.

– A crime against nature, this water body served as a spawning ground for fish, and ducks, swans, and other wildlife nested here. Now the pond has been filled in, the bottom springs have been blocked, and the pipe that brought in water has also been filled. This unique water body has been destroyed, and none of the environmental protection agencies have done anything to stop this, – said civic activist Bulat Bulatjanov.
