Disaster Medicine Center: Over 3,000 lives saved.

Since the beginning of the year, the branches of the Center have made over 6,700 trips to accident sites. Among the victims who were successfully rescued, more than 2,500 individuals were helped, with 339 requiring hospitalization. The high level of responsiveness and professionalism of the staff has been the foundation of the Center's successful operations.

Transport medicine has been evolving since 2011 as part of the State program "Salamatty Kazakhstan." A significant milestone was the establishment of roadside medical rescue points (RMRS), which have been providing emergency assistance at accident-prone areas of roads since 2012. Today, there are 40 such points operating in the republic.

This year, the medical rescue teams at RMRS made 1,758 trips, assisting 2,526 victims and hospitalizing 1,400 individuals. Additionally, under challenging weather conditions on the highways, 60 individuals were saved.

To enhance the effectiveness of the medical rescue points, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan continues to upgrade the infrastructure. In 2024, extensive renovation work was carried out on six points, updating both the interior and exterior of the buildings, as well as replacing outdated systems and equipment. All these measures create comfortable and safe conditions for both medical personnel and the victims receiving assistance.

The work of the Disaster Medicine Center and its specialists is not just about saving lives. It is a daily struggle against challenges, a race against time and circumstances, where each trip represents a chance to give people a second life. This year, the staff of the DMC saved over 3,000 lives.
