The Telegram channel Kozachkov offside recently published information regarding the detention of individuals involved with the anonymous channel QirSabyn.
"This platform specialized in materials about famous people, attributing various ugly stories, lovers, and so on to them. Moreover, information was periodically deleted, and the subjects of the publications were extorted for money. Just yesterday, those who, according to the investigation, are behind this scheme were identified.
It all started with two complaints - one was filed with the KNB by the wife of the owner of a large construction company, and the other by the son of a high-ranking official," - stated in the publication.
According to the Telegram channel, both complaints were merged into a single case, and the matter was classified under the article "Extortion in a particularly large amount."
"Roles were distributed as follows: three individuals wrote publications and cashed money, two were channel administrators, plus there was one senior figure above them - the organizer of the scheme, who had an assistant.
It turns out that seven individuals have already been identified, whose involvement in the operation of QirSabyn is being investigated by the authorities," - reported in the Telegram channel.
Today, the information about the detention of a group of individuals connected to QirSabyn was confirmed by the Telegram channel of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. They stated that the detention took place on December 18, with the participation of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, KNB, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"A group of individuals was detained for extorting money through the Telegram channel QirSabyn under the threat of publishing false compromising information.
Urgent investigative actions have been carried out, technical equipment, a large sum of money, and other material evidence have been seized.
The administrators of the Telegram channel have been placed in custody by court order. Necessary investigative and operational activities are ongoing. No further information regarding the investigation is disclosed," - reported the Prosecutor General's Office.
Recall that in October, a court in Astana issued a ruling in the case of the authors of the anonymous Telegram channel "Wild Horde," Daniyar Adilbekov and Erlan Saudegerov - they were sentenced to imprisonment.
Additionally, in October, a resident of Almaty filed a lawsuit against another citizen, claiming that the latter spread false information about him on Telegram, resulting in the man losing half a million tenge.
Earlier this year, there were also reports of a case where the police were searching for the author of a Telegram channel, who announced plans to stage shootings in schools in Aktobe. The author was later found - he turned out to be an 18-year-old native of one of the neighboring countries.
