According to the press service of the agency, since the beginning of the year, police in the Aktobe region have conducted extensive work to combat drug-related crimes. More than 458 kg of drugs have been seized from illegal circulation, and all detainees have faced severe criminal penalties as per court decisions.
For instance, in February, police seized a large quantity of narcotics—over 77 kg—from two residents of Aktobe.
During operational search activities in Aktobe, officers from the drug crime prevention service apprehended a man driving a Toyota Alphard. He had over 57 kg of marijuana confiscated from the trunk of his vehicle, and he was placed under arrest.
As a result of further targeted operational measures, another suspect was identified who had criminal connections with the detained individual. A search of his garage revealed approximately 20 kg of marijuana.
The criminal case involving the seizure of a significant quantity of narcotics was thoroughly and objectively investigated, conclusively proving the criminal activities of the suspects.
The agency noted that, by court decision, two individuals were sentenced to 11 years in prison for illegal trafficking of narcotics in significant amounts.
Earlier, it was reported that police seized a large consignment of marijuana on the Karaganda - Astana highway.
Additionally, in Aktobe, police, in collaboration with the National Security Committee, detained a suspect involved in drug trafficking. During a search, over 119 grams of mephedrone were found.
A large quantity of narcotics was also seized from a resident of the Almaty region. The 47-year-old man is suspected of possessing drugs in significant amounts.
