According to the information media portal of the department, as a result of operational search activities, police in the city of Aksay identified the suspect in using a lost bank card to make purchases totaling over 400,000 tenge.
It was revealed that the woman had lost her card and was completely unaware of it. Since she did not use the card and instead used the bank's app, she only noticed the deduction of funds a month after the card was lost.
"Meanwhile, a 33-year-old resident of Aksay, having found the card, made a series of purchases, including buying groceries, alcoholic beverages, and even a bouquet of flowers for his wife," the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
The police have identified the suspect. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated against him.
Previously, a resident of Karaganda discovered the loss of his bank card after purchasing goods, which contained a significant amount of money. Following "hot trails," criminal police officers detained the suspect. The stolen bank card was returned to its owner.
In Astana, a visiting man, who was under the influence of alcohol, lost one million tenge after asking a random passerby to call a taxi for him. The suspect in the theft of the bank card was apprehended, and he turned out to be an 18-year-old young man.
