According to the official Telegram channel of the RK Agency for Financial Monitoring, the AFM department for the Akmolinsk region has completed the investigation of a criminal case regarding the illegal registration of 55 vehicles using counterfeit payment and settlement documents.
During the investigation, the organizer of the scheme was identified. It was established that from December 2020 to January 2022, a group of individuals orchestrated a scheme for the mass initial registration of vehicles imported from abroad.
These actions were accompanied by the failure to pay mandatory fees and payments, as well as the use of forged documents, resulting in damages to the state exceeding 400 million tenge.
Two guilty individuals have been held criminally accountable. The court issued a verdict, sentencing the convicted to prison terms ranging from 2.5 to 5 years.
"Additionally, the court has confiscated the convicted individuals' assets - apartments in Astana and Kokshetau valued at over 90.5 million tenge, as well as a house in Kokshetau worth 35 million tenge," the AFM clarified.
Recall that in September of last year, it became known that a group of individuals, including employees of the special public service center, was detained in the Akmolinsk region.
The agency specified that during the investigation, instances of providing the specialized department for public service in Kokshetau with counterfeit payment orders for the registration fee of vehicles imported from Europe were uncovered.
Pre-trial investigations have been initiated regarding these facts. The court has sanctioned the arrest of the suspects.
In early 2024, the AFM reported that the organizer of the scheme, along with a former senior state inspector of the administrative police department of the Akmolinsk region, organized mass initial registrations of vehicles imported from abroad from December 2020 to January 2022 by failing to pay the required fees and payments, approving electronic applications, and using and distributing counterfeit payment documents.
