Law enforcement officers on the "Karaganda-Astana" highway stopped an Audi A6, driven by a 38-year-old resident of the Zhambyl region. Also in the vehicle was a peer - a passenger living in the same area.
"During the inspection of the car, police discovered and seized 13 bags containing a plant-based substance from the back seat and the trunk. According to the expert conclusion, the seized substance turned out to be dried marijuana weighing over 266 kilograms ," - the agency's report states.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident. In coordination with the prosecutor's office, a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen for the detainees.
According to the regional police department, since the beginning of the year, 446 kilograms of various narcotic substances have been seized from illegal circulation, including over 100 kilograms of hashish, more than 180 kilograms of marijuana, and 12 kilograms of synthetic drugs. More than 130 people have been detained in connection with crimes related to the illegal drug trade, among which, unfortunately, are 11 minors and 12 women.
Earlier, reports surfaced online about the detention of a division commander of the armed forces on suspicion of drug possession in the Karaganda region. The situation was commented on by the regional police department. In the trunk of the man's car, 18 packets containing a white powdery substance weighing approximately 12 kg were discovered.
In Aktobe, police officers, together with the National Security Committee, detained a suspect involved in the illegal drug trade. During a search, over 119 grams of mephedrone were found.
Additionally, more than 12 kg of drugs were found with a resident of the Zhambyl region - the "greenery" was discovered in his vehicle. His bag contained hashish and cannabis resin.
