The WTA has nominated Kazakhstan's top tennis player for a prestigious award.

The nominees for the "Duo of the Year" award by the Women's Tennis Association have been announced, as reported by Vesti.kz, citing Ktf.kz.

The organization has nominated Kazakhstan's top player Anna Danilina and her Russian partner Irina Khromacheva.

Their competitors will be the pairs Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe (Canada/New Zealand), Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend (Czech Republic/USA), Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini (Italy), Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jelena Ostapenko (Ukraine/Latvia), and Hsu Yu-Hsiou with Eliz Mertens (Taiwan/Belgium).

The winners will be determined based on the voting results of tennis journalists.

It is noteworthy that Anna and Irina together won 7 titles this year under the WTA banner, including a "thousand-point" title in Wuhan, China. The Kazakh player finished the season ranked 22nd in the world doubles rankings.
