A regional FIRST robotics tournament will be held in Astana.

The Bibigul Tulegenova Creative School, in collaboration with the USTEM Foundation, will host the FIRST Astana Regional robotics tournament in Astana on November 9-10. The event is organized by the Akimat of Astana, the city education department, the Center for the Identification and Support of Gifted Children and Talented Youth "Astana Daryny," as well as the public foundation USTEM Foundation.

More than 80 teams from Astana will participate in the tournament, representing three categories:

  • First Lego League Explore (ages 6-10);
  • First Lego League Challenge (ages 10-16);
  • First Tech Challenge (ages 12-18).

Participants will showcase their engineering skills by creating robots that perform various missions on the game field. Additionally, teams will present innovative projects focused on the underwater world and finding solutions to global issues related to ocean exploration. Winners will have the opportunity to represent Kazakhstan at the Central Asian and international stages of the FIRST championship, thereby opening doors to the global technology community.

The FIRST Astana Regional is organized as part of the mission of the international FIRST program – to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among the younger generation through creativity, innovation, and collaboration. These competitions will not only develop technical skills and critical thinking among students but also strengthen leadership qualities and teamwork skills.

The Bibigul Tulegenova Creative School actively develops its students in various fields, including Art, Digital, Music, and STEM faculties, making it a unique educational platform for comprehensive development.
